About Me
“A cool cocktail mix with a serving of Lucille Ball, a splash of Carrie Bradshaw and a Mae West Twist. Shaken not stirred and served up, of course.”
My life started like a sad country song. I travelled across the country in a car with my Mother, Stepfather, three siblings and a dog. We lived in a Buick for two years before we finally settled in the Pacific Northwest.
Biologically, I came from a long line of hard-core whiskey drunks and line-cutting drug addicts. I can drink but my body has no tolerance for narcotics. I think that defect might have saved my life.
I was married and divorced before I was twenty. I used to work on cars but now I can’t because of a compulsion to wash my hands. I’ve been a paper girl, a girl-scout, a cook, waitress, mechanic, automotive service writer, store clerk, production manager, art director and, a secretary. I’ve worked on a farm, lived in the country, city and the suburbs. I will always prefer the city.
I was homeless as a child only to travel first class around the world that ended with a broken heart. That in itself lends one perspective. I’m comfortable with my contradictions: I have a dog who is allegedly a hearing dog for my daughter who is going deaf. I like the sun but my skin does not allow me to spend too much time in its rays. I’m a night-owl but a pre-disposition to insomnia keeps me on a strict sleeping schedule. I believe in the power of love but I know for sure that love is never blind. I’m very opinionated but I usually keep them to myself unless I’m drunk. I wanted to be a rock-star but I don’t play any instruments. I know that for the most part my intellect is average and I hate being average but it didn’t stop me from getting straight A’s in college (except for that time I got a B when my mom died).
I’ve wised up but refuse to mature. I live in Portland with my two children, one cute Kitty name Moo, a dog named Luna and I own a vehicle we call the “Stunt Kia”.
I can only promise you a unique perspective. In comparison to the past I’m living the high life with a hot pair of shoes and a really strong cocktail.
